Momus
Momus was born in Scotland in 1960 and began making records in the early 1980s. Moving from Edinburgh to London, Paris, New York and Tokyo, Momus is currently based in Berlin, but Japan remains his favourite cultural reference point. In the 1990s his work with Kahimi Karie brought him Oricon chart hits and appearances on Music Station. Since 2000 he's made a second career as a performance artist in New York, and written widely about art, design and music for magazines. This year he published two books, a delirious account of "possible Scotlands" entitled The Book of Scotlands and a darkly comic novel, The Book of Jokes.
